I am a visual storyteller.

I am fascinated with the components that make stories and characters rich, real and worth contemplating.  My work is a vehicle in which to present and reiterate visual tales about people, places, events and ideas that concern me.  Some of the stories feature real people. Some I know personally. Some I have never met, but read about, studied and imagined. Others are works of fiction inspired by things I have read or places I have visited that piqued my curiosity.

Because my work has a strong connection through repeated use of images and metaphors, I feel free to use whatever medium at my disposal to create – Many times it is clay or pastel on paper. Sometimes it is wood - sticks or leaves from the tree in my backyard, Other times it is the incorporation of a myriad of found and saved items, such as an old paper bag from the pizza restaurant, a small print I made, a used postage stamp or dried up root given by a friend.  I often feel that really what I am making are 2-d and 3-d collages, with a mish-mash of different parts that strive to create a harmonious union, like the bits and pieces that make up a cherished memory.

Thank you for taking time to view my work!   I hope you enjoy the stories I have to tell.
